Riyadh Season 2024 is gearing up to be an unforgettable celebration, promising a lineup that’s hard to resist. With major sporting events already on the calendar, including a high-stakes tennis match and now the much-anticipated African Super Cup, excitement is in the air.
Mark your calendars for Friday, September 27th. The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has yet to reveal the exact venue and kickoff time, but what we do know is that this final showdown will feature two of Egypt’s football powerhouses: Al-Ahly and Zamalek. CAF, the governing body responsible for football, beach soccer, and futsal across Africa, is overseeing this prestigious event.
Advisor Turki Al-Sheikh expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “We are honored to host the African Super Cup as part of the Riyadh Season, showcasing one of the most significant tournaments on the African continent. This event brings together two of Egypt’s football giants, Al-Ahly and Zamalek. We are all anticipating a thrilling match that will meet our high expectations.”
Al-Ahly enters the competition as the reigning champion of the TotalEnergies CAF Champions League, while their fierce rivals, Zamalek, hold the title of TotalEnergies CAF Confederation Cup champions. The stage is set for an epic clash in Riyadh, and fans are eagerly waiting to see who will emerge victorious.
But that’s not all Riyadh Season has in store. The event lineup also includes the 6 Kings Slam tennis tournament, featuring a star-studded roster with a combined 50 Grand Slam titles. Among the players are Novak Djokovic, the current world number one, and Rafael Nadal, who boasts 22 Grand Slam victories.
