The Red Sea’s tourism landscape is undergoing a dramatic transformation. As of now, two hotels are operational, with three more slated to open this year. By the end of 2025, an additional 11 hotels will be ready to welcome guests. Upon completion in 2030, The Red Sea will boast around 50 hotels, 8,000 rooms, up to 1,000 residential properties, and its very own international airport.

Six Senses Southern Dunes
Six Senses Southern Dunes became the first hotel to open at The Red Sea at the end of 2023. Located within desert mountains and narrow wadis, this resort is accessible via a one-hour drive from the Red Sea International Airport. The 76-room resort is divided between 36 guest rooms in the main building and 40 strategically placed villas offering panoramic views of the stunning landscape. At the heart of the resort is the Oasis, home to the hotel reception, lobby, community lounges, and meeting spaces. Guests can also visit the brand’s signature Earth Lab, which showcases sustainability efforts.
The St. Regis Red Sea Resort
Situated on a private island within the Ummahat Islands archipelago, The St. Regis Red Sea Resort is the first island hotel at The Red Sea. Guests can reach this luxurious retreat via a 45-minute boat ride or a 15-minute speedboat journey. The resort features 90 villas, including overwater and dune villas. It also boasts two signature restaurants, a kids’ club, a beach club with luxe cabanas, a pool, and an oceanic-inspired St. Regis Bar. Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve
Opening in May 2024, Nujuma, a Ritz-Carlton Reserve will be the second resort on the Ummahat Islands. This resort pays homage to Saudi heritage and culture while offering modern luxury. Guests can choose from 63 overwater and beach villas, ranging from one to four bedrooms. The resort will feature a lavish spa, swimming pools, and multiple dining options. Additionally, a Conservation Center will provide educational activities such as scuba diving, stargazing, and local crafts.
Desert Rock
Announced in September 2021, Desert Rock is one of two inland resorts in the first phase of The Red Sea project. This 60-key, hyper-luxury resort is nestled within the craggy rocks of The Red Sea. It offers 48 luxury villas and 12 hotel rooms with spectacular views of the surrounding desert. Accommodations range from ground-level dwellings to crevice hotel suites. Some rooms are even excavated within the rock. Resort amenities include a spa, fitness center, remote dining areas, and a lagoon oasis. Activities such as hiking, dune buggy rides, and stargazing will be available.
Shebara Resort
Set to open in the summer of 2024, Shebara Resort will be the first hotel operated by Red Sea Global (RSG). Located within the Al Aajh lagoon, the hyper-luxury resort is accessible via a 20-minute seaplane ride from The Red Sea Airport. The resort features 73 villas, including 38 overwater villas. The villas, made from stainless steel, reflect the colors of the sky and ocean. Guests can use driverless buggies to navigate the resort. Facilities include a family pool, a spa, a fitness center, and an adults-only pool with lily pad-style seating terraces.

Designed by the renowned Foster + Partners, the resort will feature 149 rooms and suites, each offering unobstructed views of the stunning coastline and crystal-clear waters.
Guests at the Four Seasons Resort will have access to six restaurants and lounges, an on-site marine discovery center, and versatile meeting and event spaces. The resort’s facilities are second to none, including tennis courts, three outdoor pools with cabanas, and two beaches—one for families and another exclusively for adults. The full-service spa will feature a hammam and various relaxation-driven offerings. The Red Sea Edition
Another notable addition to Shura Island is The Red Sea Edition, marking Edition Hotels’ second property in Saudi Arabia, following The Jeddah EDITION. Scheduled to open next year, this hotel will feature 240 guest rooms and suites, ranging from one- to three-bedroom accommodations. The Red Sea Edition will boast two signature restaurants, a destination bar, a beach bar, a fitness center, swimming pools, and a spa. Faena The Red Sea
Among the almost dozen new hotels opening on Shura Island, also known as Coral Bloom, is the Faena The Red Sea. This U.S.-born brand focuses on experiential hospitality, healing and wellness, and innovative culinary concepts. The 150-key resort will consist of suites and villas, each with its own private pool and endless ocean views. Grand Hyatt
Set to be the largest of the 11 hotels on Shura Island, the Grand Hyatt will offer 430 rooms and suites. Opening in 2025, this visually striking hotel, designed by Foster + Partners, features a rainbow-hued “coral bloom” design that resembles a coral bloom in the sea from above. Intercontinental Resort Red Sea
In 2025, Shura Island will welcome the Intercontinental Resort Red Sea, a 210-room property offering sea views and beach access. Miraval The Red Sea
Famed for its wellness and mindfulness focus, Miraval Resorts and Spas is venturing outside the U.S. for the first time, with the opening of Miraval The Red Sea in Saudi Arabia. This 180-room luxury wellness retreat will span a sprawling 3 million square feet. Drawing inspiration from the Red Sea’s natural beauty and unique topography, Miraval The Red Sea aims to promote mindfulness, relaxation, and introspection. The highlight will be the Life in Balance Spa, the largest in the Red Sea, featuring 39 treatment rooms, a mangrove boardwalk, walking trails, and workshop spaces. The spa will offer signature treatments and innovative wellness programs that pay homage to the rich local culture and heritage of the Middle East.
Fairmont The Red Sea
Located next to Shura Links and reflecting Fairmont’s association with world-class golf offerings, Fairmont The Red Sea will feature 200 guest rooms, 2,000 square meters of meeting space, a greenhouse, and a spa center. The resort’s culinary portfolio includes seven restaurants, with overwater dining options that take advantage of the sweeping sea views.
Raffles Red Sea
Another architectural masterpiece by Foster + Partners, Raffles Red Sea, will open on Shura Island in 2025. Known for its bespoke luxurious hospitality, Raffles Red Sea will offer a range of rooms and suites, six restaurants, a full-service spa, and extensive meeting spaces covering 565 square meters.
Rosewood Red Sea
As part of Rosewood Hotels’ expansion in Saudi Arabia, Rosewood Red Sea will open in 2025, featuring 149 luxurious guest rooms and suites. The hotel will offer three restaurants, two lounges, a signature Manor Club, and various recreational spaces, including event pavilions and Asaya, Rosewood’s integrative well-being concept with seven treatment rooms, a gym, two movement studios, and a yoga pavilion.
SLS Red Sea
Continuing its Middle Eastern expansion, SLS will open SLS The Red Sea in 2025. Spread across 800,000 square feet of single-story accommodation, the hotel will offer 150 rooms, including 12 suites and 15 villas ranging from one- to four-bedrooms.
